Homemade Vanilla Extract

1.jpg

This will come in handy for all your holiday baking!! So make sure you share to save on your timeline or TAG yourself so you have it for later

It is SO simple to do and given as a gift your recipients will LOVE it! Mine did! You will need to get started with it now in order to give it for Christmas.

Homemade Vanilla Extract
Vanilla Beans (I ordered mine online from Beanilla)
Good Quality Vodka
Quart Jar
Decorative bottle (the one in photo is a little single size wine bottle)
Bottle stopper (the one is photo is from Le Gourmet Chef)

Directions:
Split 5-6 vanilla beans down center with sharp knife. Place into a quart jar, pour vodka over them to fill jar. Put lid on jar and allow to sit 8-10 weeks, shaking jar about 2-3 times per week.
Then, place 2-3 of the vanilla beans into a smaller decorative glass jar. Using a funnel, pour liquid from quart jar into smaller jar until almost full, leaving room to add stopper. Complete with label and tie with ribbon to give as a unique and useful gift. 🙂

NOTE: These beans can be used for MANY years! Just add more vodka to have a continuous supply of vanilla 🙂
